OTTAWA, ON – February 22, 2026 
The Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Ottawa, in collaboration with the Saudi Cultural Burea, hosted a special Iftar reception to commemorate Saudi Founding Day. The event, which took place during the holy month of Ramadan, brought together Canadian officials, diplomats, and members of the Saudi community to celebrate the 299th anniversary of the Kingdom's foundation.
The evening was highlighted by a keynote address from Her Excellency Amal Almoalimi, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Canada. In her speech, Ambassador Almoalimi emphasized the deep-rooted history of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, dating back to its establishment in 1727. She reflected on the Kingdom's journey of unity and progress, noting the unique significance of celebrating these national values during the spiritual month of fasting.
The celebration featured cultural displays showcasing the Kingdom's rich heritage, from traditional attire to the authentic flavors of Saudi hospitality. The event served as a bridge of cultural exchange, reinforcing the enduring friendship between Saudi Arabia and Canada.​
